Music Made Simple: An 8 Week Parent-Child Music Course for Children

Music plays a significant role in supporting child development, but many parents are unsure of how or why to use it. This course, taught by Board Certified Music Therapists, will put practical tools in the hands of parents that will support their child in all areas of development. Parents will:

  • Receive your own instrument bag to use with your child--delivered to your door

  • Discover ways to support speech & language through singing, music games, and engaging activities.

  • Learn to support fine and gross motor skills using music

  • Help their child develop social skills including turn taking, listening, engagement, and more

  • Learn how music techniques can support transitions and routines, making their days smoother and more enjoyable

Jaycie Voorhees

Jaycie Voorhees, MT-BC is a Board Certified Music Therapist in Salt Lake City bringing harmony to corporate, wellness, and therapeutic groups through her company Harmony Music Therapy for over 10 years. Jaycie is passionate about putting tools in parents hands to support their own child's development. Her work with special needs has included work with children with Autism, Down Syndrome, William's Syndrome, children who are Deaf and Blind, and many other needs. Jaycie combines her zest for life with her passion for music, bringing energizing and effective change to her clients and their teams.

Board Certified Music Therapist

Cassie Bringhurst

Cassie is a graduate from Utah State University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy and earned a minor in Family Consumer Human Development (FCHD). While at Utah State, Cassie also received her Gerontology Certificate. Cassie completed her six-month music therapy internship at Primary Children’s Hospital, and now works with clients with special needs in a variety of settings. In her free time, Cassie enjoys hiking and exploring the outdoors.
